大学拥有悠久的独立学术文化传统,但近年来,随着以“行政化”为代表的管理文化和以“学术资本主义”为代表的商业文化的渗透介入,大学文化正在经历新的分化和重塑,并对相关行动者的价值取向和行为产生深刻影响。文章基于一项全国性博士毕业生调查数据,系统分析了大学文化如何影响博士生对导师的满意程度。分析发现,遵循传统学术文化和师道规范的导师更受学生欢迎,而更高的权力地位和更强的市场取向并没有显著增加导师在学生中的受欢迎程度。这一结果可能喻示着,虽然当前中国大学文化日趋分化、复杂,但学术文化仍占据主流地位,管理文化和商业文化尚未形成根本性的“僭越”。
Abstract:
As an independent social institution existed for more than a thousand years, university has formed a unique academic culture. However, in recent years, with the infiltration of the management culture represented by “bureaucracy” and the commercial culture represented by “academic capitalism”, university culture became more complex and diversified, which put an impact on the value and behavior of stakeholders in universities. Based on the data of a national survey of PhD graduates in China, the paper explored the impacts of diversified university culture on PhD students’ satisfaction of their supervisors. The results showed that supervisors embodied higher level of traditional academic culture got higher satisfaction from their students, whilst higher administrative power and market orientation of supervisors did not help them to get higher satisfaction. The theoretical and policy implications of the study were discussed in the end of the paper.
