将学术活动所产生的社会效益和影响力纳入学术评价指标体系,正在成为全球大学教师学术评价改革的新趋势。面对外部科研评价框架变革,英国华威大学积极调整其教师学术评价指标体系,在原有教学、科研和管理三维度的基础上,增设了影响力维度;构建了适用于不同学科、不同聘任序列教师的四维晋升标准矩阵,弹性统合学术评价中教师各项工作绩效的关系。华威大学的案例对“破五唯”背景下我国大学教师学术评价体系的改革具有借鉴意义:坚守学术本位,凭借教学科研创造社会效益;引入定性评价,强调学术活动的质量和成效;综合考虑不同序列教师发展特征,弹性统合评价维度;细化等级梯度,发挥学术评价的发展性功能。

There has been an ongoing global trend to incorporate academic activities’ social benefits and impact into academic evaluation systems in recent years. In response to changes in the national research evaluation framework, the University of Warwick upgraded its three-dimensional academic evaluation criteria that included teaching, research, and management by adding an “impact” dimension. Meanwhile, it constructed a matrix of academic promotion criteria that applied to faculty members in various disciplines and career pathways, which flexibly integrated academic performances on the four dimensions. The case of Warwick has certain referential significance and enlightenment for Chinese universities when reforming their internal academic evaluation to break the “five-only”.It is suggested to (1) stick to the academic criteria and encourage faculty members to create social impact through teaching and research, (2) introduce qualitative evaluation to highlight the quality and outcome of academic activities, (3) consider the dissimilarities of academic development in different career pathways and flexibly integrate evaluation dimensions, and (4) refine the grade gradient to highlight the developmental role of academic evaluation.
