At present and after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the physical and mental conditions of American college students are showing new characteristics, and the severity and diversity of their mental health problems are becoming more prominent.At the same time, the mental health service system is difficult to meet the rapid growth of service demand, and the support for students with special status is weak, lacking adequate support and guarantee. Faced with these problems, American college students’ mental health services adopted several countermeasures, including to enhancing service accessibility, paying close attention to students with special needs, constructing a non-professional service team, strengthening the service capabilities of peer counseling organizations, improving remote online services, strengthening the support and guidance of professional associations, strengthening state and local support, etc.Its coping strategies provide reference to Chinese universities to further improve the mental health service system for college students.
