摘要:

北卡三角研究园的发展史就是一部大学的创业史,大学在北卡罗来纳州三角研究园的发展中扮演着不可或缺的角色,助力该区域从昔日衰败的烟草之乡发展成为了享誉全球的科技高地。20世纪中期北卡罗来纳州发挥杜克大学、北卡罗来纳州立大学、北卡罗来纳教堂山分校三所姊妹研究型大学的学术优势组建三角研究园,力图将学术资源转化为经济引擎。历经半个余世纪的艰难创业与发展,得益于大学科研的磁铁作用,三角研究园发展远超预期,作为新经济的典范脱颖而出,北卡罗来纳州科技之梦得以实现。透过对三角研究园发展探究,当前大学科技园实践应当清醒意识到其中的艰难性与复杂性。

Abstract:

The development of the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina owes much to the collaborative effort of key stakeholders in the academic, political, and business sectors. In the mid-20th century, the state leveraged the academic strengths of Duke University, North Carolina State University, and North Carolina Chapel Hill to establish the Triangle Research Park, with the aim of stimulating economic growth from academic resources. Over more than half a century, the Park’s development exceeded expectations, thanks in part to the pivotal role of university research. The Park has since become a model for the new economy globally, with industries in science and technology thriving. Therefore, it is essential to note that the development of the Research Triangle Park was not solely due to the efforts of universities but was the product of a harmonious relationship among key stakeholders seeking common ground, despite any differences in their political or cultural orientation.
