布迪厄的理论一面被尊奉为揭示教育不公平的圣经,一面又被批判为否定个体能动性的悲观决定论。这篇文章指出,布迪厄的理论包含着突破文化再生产、超越结构主义的指向,只是这部分内容往往被教育研究者忽略而已。相对而言,布迪厄早期的作品带有更多的结构主义色彩,后期对其理论的反思则通过对实践无意识性的强调超越了“结构性-能动性”、“客观主义-主观主义”的二元对立。但是,由于布迪厄分析教育现象的作品集中在早期,所以其后期作品往往为教育研究者所忽略。从整体脉络上来分析布迪厄的理论,本文强调,布迪厄的理论不再只是批判社会再生产的愤然论调,更是解释文化再生产何以发生、揭示惯习的转变何以可能发生的实践指南。
Abstract:
Bourdieu’s theory has impacted educational research in a variety of countries significantly. However, the reception of Bourdieu's theory in educational studies tends to be highly fragmented, focusing much more on his earlier works than his later ones. Consequently, educational researchers tend to ignore the dynamic evolutions in Bourdieu’s academic thoughts and Bourdieu’s ongoing efforts in transcending binaries between subjectivity and objectivity, structure and individual, consciousness and unconsciousness, etc. This paper argues that Bourdieu’s later reflections on his practice theory are his key to solving these binaries, but since his later works draw little attention from educational researchers, he impresses many educational researchers as structuralists and determinists. This article argues that Bourdieu’s theory in its totality is more than an outrageous critique of cultural reproduction, and it is also a powerful framework explaining how the transformation of habitus can be possible for the disadvantaged students entering new cultural settings.
