本文选择中央研究院三位科学家院士为个案研究对象,分别考察杨钟健、贝时璋、陈省身的留德背景与其所在学科的发展关系。通过追述其留德时代的师承情况、学术获益而作出科学成就之总结。在强调其作为留德学人的普遍性特点之外,凸显其科学家的三点特殊群体特征:一是对德国科学的熟悉和运用体现出德国科学文化层面的“西学东渐”;二是对德国的学术理念有一种潜移默化型的较强接受,其影响深远;三是以积极态度进行了作为体制的大学、研究所机构、学会之类的制度化学术建设,以“教育与学术”的建制性参与来保持自身的“人文情怀”。
- Abstract:

This article selects three academicians of the Academia Sinica, i.e.Yang Zhongjian, Bei Shizhang, and Chen Xingshen, as the objects to examine the relationship between their academic background in Germany and the development of their disciplines.By tracing their mentorship, academic benefits and scientific achievements during their time in Germany, this paper draws a conclusion on their scientific achievements. In addition to emphasizing the common characteristics as scholars studying in Germany, it highlights three special group characteristics of them as scientists: first, their familiarity with and application of German science, which reflects the “Western learning and Eastern gradualization” of German science and culture; second, their strong acceptance of German academic concepts, which has had a profound influence on them; third, their positive implementation of the institutionalized academic construction of universities, research institutes, and societies as a system, which helps to maintain their own “humanistic feelings” through the fundamental participation in “education and academic”.
