Comprehensive quality evaluation, as a major part of China’s examination and evaluation reform, fully reflects the Party's educational policy in the new era, and serves as an inherent driving force to deepening educational and teaching reform. At present, in the course of implementing comprehensive quality evaluation, several practical problems remain to be settled, for instance, the evaluation contents and index systems lacking scientificity, the evaluate subject and method tending towards unicity, the evaluating procedures and processes being simplified, and the presenting patterns of the results lacking consistency with the purpose of usage, etc. To promote the implementation of comprehensive quality evaluation, giving full play to the cultivation function in schools, several suggestions are given as follows: firstly, strengthen academic research in comprehensive quality evaluation and clarify related theoretical problems; secondly, optimize methods and technologies of evaluation to truthfully and objectively reflect the development and progress of students; thirdly, give full play to the educational function of evaluation to promote all-round and individual development of students; lastly, consummate the mechanism of guarantee to facilitate the normalization and standardization of comprehensive quality evaluation.
