本研究基于个人—环境契合理论分析了大学新生学业内卷水平对其大学适应的可能影响,以及环境中的学业内卷氛围在其中的调节作用。基于全国不同地区9所高校1542名大一新生的调查数据,研究发现个人学业内卷正向预测其学业适应,负向预测社交适应和情绪适应。学业内卷氛围调节了个人学业内卷对学业和社交适应的预测效应:当内卷氛围较弱或较强时,个人学业内卷均正向预测学业适应,但在氛围较强时预测效应更大;当内卷氛围较弱时,个人学业内卷程度越高,其社交适应情况越差,但个人学业内卷与社交适应在内卷氛围较强时无显著关联。研究结果表明学业内卷可能在促进大学新生学业适应的同时,对社交和情绪方面的适应有潜在危害,总体而言,个人与学业内卷氛围契合时的适应状态优于非契合时的状态。
Abstract:
Drawing on the Person-Environment Fit Theory, this research examined the predictive effects of college freshmen’s academic involution on their college adjustment, as well as the moderating role of perceived academic involution atmosphere in such effects. Based on 1542 freshmen samples from 9 Chinese universities, this research found that: 1) personal academic involution positively predicted freshmen’s academic adjustment and negatively predicted social and emotional adjustment; 2) the academic involution atmosphere moderated the predictive effects of personal academic involution on academic and emotional adjustment: When perceived academic involution atmosphere was either weak or intense, personal academic involution positively predicted academic adjustment, but the effect was greater when the atmosphere was intense; when the academic involution atmosphere was weak, students who engaged in more academic involution had worse social adjustment, but no such association was found when the atmosphere was intense. The findings implied that college freshmen’s academic involution may facilitate their academic adjustment and threaten their social and emotional adjustment at the same time. Their adjustment was generally better when the level of their personal academic involution fit their perceived academic involution of most other students in college.
