The reflection and construction of university talents cultivation need to focus on the requirements of the intelligent age for the quality structure of the labor force. The fundamental ability required for development of individual character and ability and social progress in the intelligent age lies in creative learning ability. Therefore, cultivating students’ creative learning ability has become the logical starting point for innovation and change in talent cultivation in universities. Thus, the reform of university personnel training should take the cultivation of creative learning ability as the core mission, construct multiple open courses, integrate design thinking method and intelligent technology to explore modern teaching methods, and finally establish a “creative learning paradigm”. Under the new paradigm, universities are institutions where students independently explore knowledge and creatively solve problems. Students’ autonomous learning ability and creative ability could also be promoted. Reconstructing the “creative learning paradigm” and focusing on cultivating students’ creative learning ability is an inherent requirement for universities to straighten out the relationship between talent training and the development of an intelligent society, and undertake the important task of fostering innovative talents and building a “double first-class”.
